At the threshold of new millennium in 1999, a revolutionary step was taken that changed the history of Parboiled Rice in Pakistan. Parboiled Rice: The Nutritional Rice
Parboiling process preserves nutrients contained in the outer grain layers, which are normally lost during polishing (the bran and aleurone layers). Especially thiamine diffuse into the starchy endosperm, thus enhancing the nutritive qualities of the Rice. The starches in parboiled rice become gelatinized. Parboiled rice has added iron & vitamin B. The cooked rice is firmer and less sticky.
